The existence of a powerful robot soldiers and combat ready we usually only see in Hollywood action films, seems about to come true.

Just imagine, if the figure terinpirasi humanoid robots and robots in the Terminator movies animals like in the movie Transformer, reportedly the U.S. military is now attempting to realize where they are in real life.

Maybe this is a start, but what has been done by the U.S. military may be the beginning of a major breakthrough.

Yes, what is not, the American military has reportedly commissioned production robot bipedal and quadrupedal soldiers who can run faster than humans.

The development itself is under the auspices of the Maximum Mobility and Manipulation program belongs to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

The program aims to create a scientific framework to increase significantly the rapid design and production of the robotic system and enhance robot mobility and manipulation greatest impact on the surrounding natural environment.

Besides intended for military purposes and the war, robots could also be used for other fields such as agriculture, fire, and emergency services.

To realize all of that, the DARPA have binding contracts with Boston Dynamics who also previously successfully developed a quadruped robot called the BigDog.

As reported by the Boston Herald, the cooperation project is expected to cost millions of dollars for a period of 4 years. And so far, Boston Dynamic alone have been assigned to develop a humanoid robot named Atlas and quadruped robot called Cheetah targeted finished within 20 months.

As far as the development of an ongoing, reportedly Cheetah robot capable of a strong run in any condition. Besides being a noisy sound, this robot was also only able to run below the expected rate. And even as President Marc Raibert Boston Dynamic himself, affirms that to achieve perfection robot seems they still need.

According Raibert it is still trying to match the speed of a cheetah that reaches 96-112 km per hour."There's no excuse not to match the pace of the original, but it takes time to reach that number," said Marc Raibert, president of Boston Dynamics, told the Boston Herald.

Meanwhile, the Atlas robot has two arms, two legs and can walk upright much like the prototype anthropomorphic Petman ever before. Robots of this type are designed to squeeze into the narrow room and use their hands to move quickly on steep terrain.
